Gamenomics or how China’s help paint a picture of the commercial war
Once a friend told me that chess is about controlling the space on the chessboard. It was a revelation that make me see the game in a new light, making me shift my strategy completelly.
Chess is not the only game that is about controlling space. The chinesse Go is another game where controlling more territory than the rival is the aim. It is a game deceitfully simple, but very complex, just like economy.
Like gaming, China never lose sight of the long term goal of controlling terrotory. Only now is done through diplomacy, agreements and help. A queck google search about China’s help show it is not random, being the most recent of them Africa:

And if you take a look at the most recent news about China-EU relations, you would see that they have reaffirm on free commerce. Just the opposite Trump have done.
Wherever USA is leaving a void, China is stepping up to fill it. If USA decides to back away on free commerce, China is in. If USA walk away on climate change, China is there. When USA is cutting help to African countries, China is offering 60.000 millions.
EU is a big market, Africa is rich on resources needed for production, Pakistan and India are neighbours and helping them China keeps their borders safe. We can go on, but the strategy is clear, China is trying to control territory while Trump is walking away from negotiation tables like G7 and North Korea summits.
Some people might think that “the Art of the Deal” would win over “the Art of War”, but the last have been around for centuries. Bombshells might cause a big impact on the short term, but what would remain once the dust settles is what would tell us if this is a big Go game that can’t be gained through blitzkrieg or if chaos and confusion have something to offer to USA’s middle class.
If you ask me, I’ll be learning how to play Go, seems a safer bet than fishing.
