Other Ways You Can Help
Want to help get great projects signed up for Boost? Here are a few ways you can help:
- Look for creative, interesting projects in the cryptocurrency or blockchain space. Reach out to the creators and encourage them to apply to Boost. Explain that pitching a cryptocurrency or blockchain product to an audience already using the technology is a much more effective way to fund a project. Focus on quality projects that you could see yourself using — don’t waste time with ones that don’t tell a story. The goal is to bring awareness to Boost while simultaneously getting those creators a wider, more involved audience to allow their projects to succeed.
- Reach out to members in your local community interested in raising funds via blockchain. Most cryptocurrency enthusiasts have a network of friends involved in the space. Taking the time to come up with a cool idea for a project, or listing an existing project is a great way to spread the word.
- Find local charities that could benefit from additional funding. Look for reputable companies with a history of spending funding efficiently and helping.
Continuous Involvement With Successful Creators
This week, we spoke to multiple blockchain entrepreneurs and creators about which types of features they would like to see on Boost and on ELIX in general. The takeaway from these conversations was that it would be ideal to allow successful creators to continue providing products through the ELIX platform even after projects have been successfully funded. We are looking into this option as we move forward.
Badges
We’ve been discussing the possibility of creating different badges on our platform, all related to smart contract and blockchain activity.
Here are a few we’re thought of so far:
- Genesis & Genesis Holder (or “Hodler”): a untouched genesis address holder. Genesis holders could sign a message from a genesis address giving one other Ethereum account this badge. A special badge could be awarded for each untouched genesis address in this decentralized fashion.
- Early Creator: a creator with an early, succesfully funded project. Just like genesis holders did, these people get free Elix for submitting proposals for projects, as well as a special badge. Once again, being an early creator is provable by inspecting smart contract data.
- Early Adopters: this is all of our community right now who participate to help bring projects on Boost to life!
Feel free to suggest a few badges to us as well! We’re always open to ideas from our community.
Development
We’ve updated our website to be a new Angular 5 app and retooled our deployment process so that we can more easily create, test, and deploy features to production. Angular’s great web performance and tooling make it a powerful framework that will enable us to more efficiently add new, more dynamic content to the site. We’ve already added a creator portal and will be expanding this in the coming weeks so that our site can be even more engaging to viewers.
This week, we implemented the redesigned version of the wallet page:
The mobile app is looking better everyday as we implement the sleek new designs. Below you can see the progress on the new wallet interface complete with dynamic updating of portfolio balances, an easy to view transaction history, and cool floating action buttons for sending and receiving.
