I just found out (late the party as usual) that pansies, one of the simplest, most panda-faced of all flowers will overwinter.

According to North Carolina Flower Growers bulletin, “pansies are a remarkable winter annual capable of surviving temperatures down to the single digits, freezing solid, then bouncing back with vigor.”
