Both very good points. I wonder, couldn’t she have called the police if they wouldn’t give her back her visa? I don’t know the Mexican police’s level of corruption/incompetence, maybe it wouldn’t have helped, but even if they had a valid (apparently) reason to take the visa, surely they’re compelled to give it back if the person leaves their employ. Then again, I wonder if the ease with which she was granted another one indicates that they see this kind of situation a lot…
