I feel for this lady big time, and of course it’s easy to sit in my air-conditioned office and criticize her choices, but dang — five months is too long to stay in a job without getting paid. It should have been obvious long, long before then that she was never going to make a dime at this job — certainly was never going to make enough to support her family — and her time would be better spent doing literally anything else. I’m so glad things worked out for her and she’s certainly not the villain of the piece (Felipe can die in a fire), but what I mostly get from this is a cautionary tale about knowing when to cut your losses!
