The vast majority of startups that receive VC funding are run by men. This means one of two things: Either women just really suck at coming up with ideas, bringing them to fruition and pitching VC investors, or VC investors (most of whom are male) are unlikely to invest in female-fronted startups. Everything I’ve heard from female founders in tech indicates to me that it’s the latter, which is incredibly stupid because, as you correctly point out, all that should matter is the potential for profit. Sexism in startups means EVERYONE loses.
