My mom and dad’s eyes are so similar that I’m not sure whose I got.

I bet they didn’t consider that when they chose to tie the knot!

I think I have my mother’s smile and my father’s short-burn fuse?

If it had all been up to me, I don’t know what I’d choose!

I wear mama’s ring on my hand paired with the furrowed brow of my old man.

But this attitude I have? The one that says “I think I can, I can, I can…”

is mine, all mine, and stemmed from Nobody’s divine plan…
