No, they’re not for me! They must belong
to another.

Their sticky
surface makes tendencies far too webbed
to recover.

Confidence
in knowledge is tricksy as a black
spindly cat, relaxed.

Dare to trust
a purr, two seconds too long — wha-blap!
Nail tracks, blood

Drops, a long hand.
At least it’s a reminder of what not
to play next round.
