If you intend to buy a container this year, here are certain faults to avoid with your purchase.

1. Buying from an unknown or unreliable source: When you are purchasing a container, go for a recognised brand which is selling it. There are numerous reasons ranging from not knowing what container you will be getting to the bigger issue of delivery. A reputable container vendor will definitely arrange the delivery of the container for you. Refrigerated containers for hire are easily available in the market. Hire shipping containers to ease your load.

2. Using a comprehensive buying guide. A wide number of container vendors use a sorting system of their containers as A, B or C grade. However the point there is no standardisation of the grading system. In its place, ask for the class of the container — wind and water tight, cargo-worthy etc. Also, ask if you can examine the container when you are buying it or get pictures. Some sites may not let you pick up the shipping container until you order it, but before you pay the fee for it. We do that in the case of some markets so that the client can always tell what they are going to get. That is still much better than trusting on a particular description of the container.

3. Not preparing your site appropriately. Containers are great because you just need to set them a bit and they are ready to use. But, the central question is where you really intend to set them down. Make sure that you put your container on a firm ground so that it does not sink.

4. Not preparing before burying containers. Containers can even shelter you from the storm, but you need to prepare well. All the strength in containers lies is on the floor and the posts on the four corners and not just in the walls and roof of the container. Also, you make sure that you ready the containers so it has added protection against the surplus moisture it will run into being buried.
