Don’t Guess. Split-Test! A Tutorial for Affiliate Entrepreneurs…

I wanted to provide a quick tutorial on Split-Testing for affiliate entrepreneurs.
This blog post will go really nicely with the video that I made, so make sure you watch them in conjunction with each other.
There’s a surprise at the end of the video — and possibly, at the end of this post!
Split-testing is where the entrepreneur gets to be the mad-scientist of advertising! It’s where you can test your hypotheses with ferocity to see which element of your advertising or funnel works best.
Here’s the question you’re trying to answer…
Which advertisement helps me HELP the most customers?
That’s the question that you have to ask. That’s the question you have to keep in the back of your mind!
As a mad-scientist advertiser, you have to think like all kinds of different customers.
First however, you start with your avatar. If you don’t know what an avatar is, you can read about the concept here, or watch the video here…
Remember, you’re trying to promote your product to your avatar. And that avatar, at least initially, is YOU!
When you’re making your advertisement, you have to think of yourself “AS the CUSTOMER” at all times. If you are promoting the product that helped improve your life, you have to think back to what you needed from an advertisement before you made the AWESOME CHOICE to help yourself.
What made you stop scrolling and click?
You can split-test with any type of advertisement, but for this example, I’m going to use a funnel. See my tutorial about ClickFunnels here…
When you build a landing page on ClickFunnels, you have to consider what would convince you to enter a new world. Is it the headline that grabs your attention? Is it a funny picture? Is it a quote from a famous person? Is it a Michael Scott meme? (He’s from The Office — it’s very funny…).
Well, with split-testing, you don’t have to guess! You can test!
Hey — that might be my new tagline for split-testing!
DON’T GUESS. SPLIT-TEST!
I just went up and changed the title of this post.
At any rate, you can test all four of those possibilities that I just mentioned, in a split-test.
I’ll do it like a sports bracket…

You can split-test the Headline vs. the Funny Picture, and see how each ad makes out with your customer base.
Let’s say the Funny Picture wins out.
Then, it becomes funny picture vs. Michael Scott meme. I’m going with the Michael Scott meme, because the customer wanted the funny stuff. So as a smart entrepreneur, I’ll put my money on the Michael Scott meme to win against the quote as an educated guess.
After testing the Funny Picture vs. Michael Scott, you find that the Funny Picture performed best.
Now you’ve taken the guess work out of the ad!
You know that the Funny Picture is working! Now it’s time to move forward with the Funny Picture.
When it all boils down to it, you take the guess work out of your advertising budget by split-testing and seeing what brings you the best results of all. And that will help you SAVE a lot of money, while helping you MAKE a lot of money by helping other people get the results that they want!
Tomorrow, I’m going to write about what you do once you know you have a winner!
See you then!
Thanks for reading! I appreciate you!
