TIPS for Instagram in Affiliate Marketing 2019

One the most important lessons that I learned from Russell Brunson of ClickFunnels is that you have to use Social Media for what it is supposed to be used for.
Unfortunately, he’s got so much content out there that I can’t remember exactly that he said or where to find it. I do remember this…
Instagram is like the reality TV of your life. It’s your day to day stuff that you post — the stuff that really tells people who you are.
I honestly don’t remember what he said about Facebook or YouTube, but I know what he said about Instagram.
Regardless, my point is this…
You can leverage Instagram just like you would any other social media platform; however, you have to be careful with how you use it. You have to be thinking about why people follow you, and what they want to see.
You can’t send out advertisements left and right and never give your followers any insight into YOU! Your followers want to know YOU and what YOU’RE UP TO! That’s the most important thing when it comes to Instagram.
It took me a bit to figure this out, and now that I have, I’ve kind of stopped using the platform. I’m a bit of a private person, and I don’t yet know how I feel posting pictures of my kids and wife on social media. I’ve done it, but I’m still not comfortable with it.
PLUS, the only reason I started the channel was so that I would have a place to post content about my products. I even started a channel called ELKHealth, in preparation for promoting health products such as supplements and workout materials. I haven’t used that one yet…
So here’s the deal.
I do post material about my products, but I post things about the results that I have gotten. I try to post things that make my followers think, because all of my products have made me think in such a vastly different way.
In terms of posts, the nice thing is that you can schedule your posts through the app. If you want to create a bunch of content at once, you can schedule it to go out periodically, when you want it to.
Some advertisers are always at the start of your feed — they’re the first or second thing that you see.
I don’t know how to do that… That’s some ninja stuff right there 😊.
At one point, I had a little accountability measure going on. Actually, I did it for several months I think. I sent out a picture of a mountain that said “What steps have you taken toward your goal today?”
That seemed to get the most attention.
If you are going to advertise your products on Instagram, it’s certainly not taboo. BUT, Instagram doesn’t allow you to incorporate links into your posts. What you need to do is create a LinkTree to put into your bio.
It’s really easy to do.
STEP 1: Google LinkTree
STEP 2: Sign Up
STEP 3: Create the links that you want people to follow so they can be helped by your products and services.
You can turn the links on and off and all that jazz. And it’s free.
So there’s a few tips that can help you get started with an Instagram channel. I definitely think it’s worth it. I’m going to start using mine again. I’ll do the accountability post and some other stuff!
Thanks for reading! My own post has inspired me! I hope it’s inspired you as well!
