Love is thicker than smoke

I live here and I still haven’t been able to drive to the various neighborhoods where our friends have lost homes. But the community response has been extraordinary. My nephew, a police officer in another Bay Area community, came up to check on us (and on his father in the area). He said where he lives, in a nice city, it “wouldn’t have been like Santa Rosa. Everybody here cares.”
Out in Occidental, alternative health workers were giving massages, aromatherapy, cupping, acupuncture (etc.) to first responders, many of whom had never experienced alternative health care before.
I also got a Facebook message about a woman whose firefighter husband from Oregon said none of the responders had paid anything for meals while they were here, no matter where they ate.
