I just read “Deep Economy: The Wealth of Communities and the Durable Future” by Bill McKibben. It’s a few years old now but I actually think it would make a great Billfold book club read: https://www.amazon.com/Deep-Economy-Wealth-Communities-Durable/dp/0805087222/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1470946286&sr=8-1&keywords=deep+economy
Continuing with the climate change kick I am 65% of the way through Elizabeth Kolbert’s “Field Notes from a Catastrophe” which I had to stop reading before bed because it’s so upsetting. But it’s very good!
I try to read a big fat quote unquote classic at least once or twice this year so I’m also working on my slow but steady summer project of conquering Middlemarch. I have tried and failed before but I made it to page 300 this morning — so only like a third of the way though, lol — but I think I’m actually going to finish it this time.
