An Emergency Handbook for an Impromptu Italian Beach Vacation

Such a love/hate relationship with farmacias. (I did a semester in Spain which does things the same way). You can never just poke around and compare ingredients, you are pretty much stuck with what the pharmacist gives you (plus you need to steel yourself for the indignity of detailing gastrointestinal distress in your second language). However, the thing where they can dispense antibiotics is pretty great — if you just have something really straightforward like a UTI there’s no need to involve a doctor/health insurance.
