The naming-and-shaming tendency, the witch hunts, the show trials, and in particular, the refusal to ever admit that there are times when it is fair and appropriate to disagree with those invoking the language of social justice… these are not how we win. We will not build a mass movement by turning our groups into a never-ending production of The Crucible.”
Unfortunately, these are built into the philosophy of the Left, as history has shown again and again. As someone who used to be a liberal, I’m torn between sorrow and anger that this lesson is not being learned, generation after generation. As a libertarian, I will confess to some schadenfreude.
