While the last 18 years has seen its fair share of duds like the segway and short-lived gadgets like the PDA, it also ushered in one of the fastest booms in tech production. In fact, at one point, Samsung was producing an average of 63 new phones per year before ‘scaling back’ to 30.
As mobile communication devices quickly evolved, so did web applications. It wasn’t long before social media evolved into the juggernaut you see today, culminating in one of the most important inventions of not just the 2000’s, but of the 21st-century.
