I’m so glad that someone noticed. I remember being so disappointed when the Da Vinci Code book and the subsequent movie series came out that hardly anyone had read enough history or literature to know that they were absolutely nonsense. They were compelling, to be sure, and I enjoyed reading them- but there was a whole lot of factual error/deliberate misinterpretation of texts or historical events. That’s perfectly fine for a novel/movie, but so many people held it up as some ground breaking text that it grew to be quite depressing.
