Nice post Shayla! I like how you recalled your socialization starting so early, I agree, when we are so young, socialization may have its most profound effect as we are in a sense a blank slate to take on whatever we are taught. I mostly align with symbolic interactionalism, but it was interesting to hear a perspective from someone who aligns more with functionalism.
