Let’s All Stop Lying About How We Eat Croutons

Croutons have been my favorite food since I was tiny. I only eat salad for the croutons. Literally, no croutons, I throw away the salad. When I was in college and had a salad bar in the cafeteria, I would make what I called my “dream salad,” which meant a bowl full of croutons, covered in shredded cheese, with some kind of dressing on it. It’s the “Oops All Crunchberries” of salad. When I was in first grade, maybe earlier, I told my parents my million dollar idea was to make a crouton the size of a hat box. One giant cube of crunchy seasoned bread. They said that’s what toast is and dismissed the idea. I regret giving up on my dream.
