A letter to my not so happy single self
Jessica Semaan

I’m happily married and this still really resonated with me. I can’t tell you how many times I needed to hear things like this growing up and into adulthood. Hell, I still need to hear it pretty often. There is no such thing as not being alone. You feel more alone when you’re single because you see people in relationships and think they’re not alone like you are. But they are. We are all alone. Alone in our own heads, alone in our hearts sometimes. Being alone is a strong place to be, and by allowing yourself to get used to it, you’re preparing yourself for a growing process that never ends, you just get stronger and stronger. People in relationships are just as alone as single people, they just have someone else to share their solitude with. Being alone is beautiful, powerful, and a key part of being human.
