Who are the 9 Girls’ Generation Members?

Girls’ Generation was also called as SNSD. The group is a South Korean group of girls formed by S.M. Entertainment or Sony Music Entertainment. The group is composed of nine members. Girls’ Generation formally introduced on August 5, 2007 with their debut solo album “Into the New World” and from then on, they already gathered attention. Let us personally know who are the nine members of the SNSD girl group.

1. Tiffany

Her full name is Hwang Mi Young or Stephanie Hwang but commonly known as Fany. She was born on August 1, 1989 in California, USA, San Francisco. She went to Korea Kent Foreign School. She became a member of the group through the 2004 SM Casting System in USA, Los Angeles and she was a Music Core MC with Seohyun and Taeyeon. She is the Lead Vocalist in the group. With all the Girls‘ Generation members, she has the top tolerance to alcohol. Incidentally, Jessica and Tiffany were born in identical hospital. She is popular for her eye, smile. Her voice will be so high pitched when she is so excited, she is said to make the usual mistakes while making live performances and the members believe she has a very shrill voice.

2. Jessica

Her real name is Jung Su Yeon, but usually called Sica. She was born on April 18, 1989 at California, USA in San Francisco. Like Tiffany, she also went to Korea Kent Foreign School. She transferred to Korea from US at age 11 to be a trainee. She has the longest preparing time in SNSD. She is generally the hardest member to be awaken since she loves to sleep. She is the Main Vocalist of the group who was once reported missing by the group members, but, then she was found sleeping in the bathroom. Another instance Jessica made worse, when their dorm became flooded because she overlook to lock the washing machine and everybody was cleaning except for her who is again sleeping. One instance happened, when SNSD made the members paid a penalty for their late, and as expected Jessica paid a lot.

3. Taeyeon

Her actual name is Kim Tae Yeon. She was born on March 9, 1989 in South Korea, Jeonju, North Jeolla. She went into Jeonju Art, High School. She is also the main Vocalist and leader of the group. All the SNSD members assent that she is the prettiest member of the group. Her bad habits are sleep talking and sleeping while in yoga positions. She was the voiced Margo on the Korean translation of “Despicable Me“. Not everybody knows that she wears contact lenses, has a very awful memory, but on the contrary, she is the best cook in the group.

4. Yoona

Her genuine name is Im Yoon Ah. She was born on May 30, 1990 and had her education at Dongguk University. She was known was a dedicated actress since she incise her hair for the Cinderella Man and she is also more confident in her acting and dancing abilities rather than singing. She is known as the no. 1 Queen of CF in SNSD and many idols have selected her as an ideal type. She is the Sub–Vocals, the Visual and the Lead Dancer of the group. She is so good for allowing herself to be the dishwasher of SNSD and called by the group as Alligator mouth because of her unique laugh.

5. Sunny

Her full name is Lee Sun Kyu who was born on May 15, 1989 in California, USA, in Los Angeles. She had her education at Baehwa Girl’s High School. She once lived in Kuwait during her infant years during the Gulf War time and this makes her afraid of thunderous explosions. Her parents were initially against her choice in becoming a singer since they knew the hardship in pursuing this career because majority of the members of the family are occupied in the industry of music, but still she became the lead vocalist of SNSD. She has 2 sisters, who happens to be the same with her birthday. She doesn’t want to go to college because she wanted to concentrate on her singing career. She is the most cheerful member of SNSD and amongst the Girls‘ Generation member, she is the sluggish to be trained with the choreography.

6. Sooyoung

Her real name is Choi Soo Young which means luxury flower petals, who was born on February 10, 1990 in Seoul, South Korea. She had her education at ChungAng University. Jessica gave her the English name, Summer. She is the sub vocals and the lead dancer of the girls’ generation group. She has the big height among the members and this makes her the group’s spokesperson. Her mom really wanted a baby boy so she raised like one. She was wearing pants and was used to sport for a boy cut, way back when she was still a kid.

7. Hyoyeon

Her true name is Kim Hyo Yeon who has the nickname of Princess Fiona. She was born on September 22, 1989 in Incheon, South Korea and had her education in China Beijing Language Course. She is the sub vocal and the main dancer of the group. She is considered their dancing queen since she can easily take the step after two watching. She is then regarded as the SNSD group mother and chef. We may not be aware, but she has 14 ear piercings and a tongue piercing.

8. Yuri

Her full name is Kwon Yu Ri who was born on December 5, 1989 in South Korea, Goyang, Gyeonggi. She had her education in ChungAng University. She can play the violin. She has the most pride of being the SNSD group. She is also the sub vocal and the lead dancer of the group, but the slowest to learn choreography and the one who makes the most mistakes while making choreography. She is known as groups’ biggest pranksters. She is a very organized and neat person.

9. Seohyun

Her real name is Seo Joo Hyun whose nickname is Hyun. She was born on June 28, 1991 in Seoul, South Korea. She had her education at Dongguk University. She is a person who sticks to the rules and will follow them as always and she is the person who speaks properly with honorifics in discussion. She was once an MC for Music Core together with Tiffany and Taeyeon. She is the main vocalist and the maknae of the group.
