Who created the heavens and the earth?
According to the Bible, God created the heavens and the earth.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)
However, the word “God” is the translation of the Hebrew word “Elohim.” Elohim is the plural form of “El” or “Eloah” and means “Gods” not “a God.” What does this mean? There are more than one God or Creator. It’s clearly understood from the scene God made man:
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness,…” God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:26–27)
God created man in the image of God: male ad female came out. Therefore, there are two images of God: the male image of God and the female image of God. We called God in male image “God the Father.” What should we call God in female image? (God the Mother)
