Hello everyone!
Let me introduce myself. My name is El Pinguino Frio, I am from Antarctica and I’m a small plush penguin. Yes, you read it right. Small funny plush toy penguin. That happens. Don’t worry, I used to it. Spanish speakers spell it like ‘peluche’ but it doesn’t really change anything. The thing that might change something is that I decided to start a blog. Because why not?
I’ve heard somewhere that practice, not an inspiration that
separates a good writer from a bad one. A person who waits for
the inspiration might never get one but the person who writes
30 minutes every day will have a book in a year. In the rest 98%
of their time they are same. So the right way to become good at something is just to do this something a lot. One might argue that lots of
practice didn’t help Justin Bieber became a good singer, but
a least he tried.
The method I’ve heard is to write a single article every day to establish a habit. At least 100 words because it’s such tiny amount of work that it should be shameful to anyone to find an excuse to do not write it. Easy, right?
A couple of days ago I was on the conference with one weird guy
who writes a single song a day. Really. One song every single day. He even was awarded by Guinness World’s record book as a person who wrote the largest amount of songs continuously every day. So the guy said that his motivator was an assumption that it doesn’t really matter how often do you write, the distribution of bad, OK and good songs
will remain the same. I.e. about half of them would be OK,
40% ish will be bad and 10% might be good songs regardless
of a number of them. So logically concluded
he decided to write a song every day to maximize the number of good
ones. Lol. So I want to do the same with articles.
Sorry for your time a have a great day!
