Gail, glad to see you enjoy that drive. Having driven to Lexingon, NE many times from Chicago, I now realize that life in Europe had to be hellish to compel the pioneers to move to the American Midwest. The climate and vast emptiness had to make them very self-reliant. With the advent of the automobile and decent roads made the exodus far easier from town to cities for the well educated youth. It takes a certain amt of moxie to deal with that.
