Better.

That’s what I want to be.

Do you ever feel like there’s a gap between who you are and who you could be?

If so, we have something in common. I spend a lot of time thinking about how I can close that gap and I’d bet that you do too.

In fact, I recently started marathon training as a way to become a better dad and husband.

This is what I learned.

I think we all know that there is something outside of us that we need to become better. So we try to learn a new skill so that we can get a better job. We start dieting and exercising so that we can be stronger and healthier. We sign up for marathons so that we can develop better discipline.

We all have a “so that” that we are trying to achieve because we feel like it will make us better and happier.

I think we are right to think there is something outside of ourselves that we need. I also think that the things we do to be better are really good and sometimes noble. I just think that there is something bigger than those things that we are really seeking. Something outside of us that is greater that we want to respond to. I think that something is a someone, our creator, God.

What do you think?

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
