Meghan Markle Never Needed a Royal Title to Shine

There has been a lot of uproar in Great Britain. There has been uproar about a British prince marrying an American actress. There has been an uproar because not only is she American, but she is black. There has been uproar that there is now black blood running through the veins of a royal heir. And there has been uproar that due to all of these uproars, that prince and that American want protection by way of privacy for their new family.

I wonder if the British press ever cared to really know who Meghan is, since they were so quick to start slapping her with labels, many of them untrue. Did they, instead, pre-judge her due to her nationality, career and color of her skin?

What is true is that, yes, Meghan is black, American and strong. It is also true that there is obviously a rift between her and her father, but that should have been left between her and her father. What the British media have done is to cause that rift to grow even greater. For her, they’ve created a disaster and they have been unapologetic for it.

Meghan has been judged harshly. She has been accused of wanting nothing more than to become a princess. She has been accused of being unkind to royal servants. She has been accused of…
