Making $10,000 a month from Copywriting alone sounds crazy, doesn’t it?

It seems odd to earn so much for writing so little (in comparison) but this guy does it every single month.

It’s very much possible to make that amount, and it’s very exciting to know you can earn as much from Copywriting just like this young African does:

Picture of Bamidele Onibalusi

Meet Bamidele Onibalusi, a name that is known by many if not every aspiring freelance writer in Africa.

He is an Nigerian who started his journey from a being a novice writer to becoming one of the richest copywriters in Africa.

He is quite the inspiration in my opinion. Especially since he was born in a country where things such as internet and electricity is a luxury.

He is also having a few health complications such as ulcer, but that didn’t stop him either.

Him being from a third world country has proven that geography is no barrier to achieving financial freedom or a successful career in the 21st century.

Why He’s One of the Richest Copywriters in Africa

Bamidele’s income is pretty impressive, and according to my research here are probably the main reasons why:

He focuses on High-profile Clients:

He has worked with numerous high-profile clients and reputable publications over the years.

This enhances his credibility in this industry aswell as earning himself a steady source of income.

Has different sources of Income:

It’s not only freelance writing that made him rich, as having only one source of income is pretty very risky in Nigeria.

Bamidele has multiple income streams which includes his blog, Writers in Charge and offering courses, eBooks, training, etc.

He also has a fish farm offline, which he enjoys doing very much.

He gains Recognition:

Bamidele’s work has been featured in major publications that have a very large audience, like Forbes and Business Insider.

His reputation is boosted and thus attracted him more opportunities.

How Much He Earns Monthly

Truth be told that his exact figures are private, so it’s not really known exactly how much he makes in a month.

But estimates suggest that he earns a large amount monthly income, likely ranging from $10,000 to $30,000 or more.

This income is derived from various sources: Freelance Writing, Copywriting, Sales of Courses and ebooks available on Writers in Charge, Consulting, Coaching, and also from Affiliate Marketing and Advertising.

His daily habits that made him successful

Everything has a pattern, so what’s Bamidele’s pattern for success? Well here’s his secret:

1. Consistent Writing Practice: He writes daily and he is continuously refining his skills no matter how good he is.

2. Networking: He doesn’t only focuses on writing but also on building relationships with other Copywriting professionals.

3. Discipline and Time Management: He manages his time to balance multiple projects and income streams.

4. Marketing: He promotes his services and products actively through various channels like his blog and ocial media.

How you can Imitate His Success

If you’re inspired by Bamidele Onibalusi’s story and you want to achieve similar success, you should try these tips:

1. Learn the Basics:

Try getting free online ebooks, audios and videos or any material that can help you understand the fundamentals of copywriting.

An example of a good ebook is the The ABC of Copywriting by Tom Albtighton

2. Build an attractive Portfolio:

Having a good portfolio helps you look more credible and get more clients easily.

You can create your portfolio by volunteering to do simple work or take on low-paying jobs(less than $20)

3. Start a Blog: Just like Bamidele you can share your knowledge and interests on platforms like Medium or Quora.

You can also create your own blog with its own domain to build a following, although it might take a little more time to be recognized.

3. Don’t stop learning:

Learn, learn, implement and learn again. I think that’s one of the golden rules of life.

You must get t as much knowledge as you can by investing your time in learning through resources or online courses.

4. Build your circle:

The people around determine what kind of person you are or in this case, what kind of person you could be.

Build relationships between you with other writers, clients, or professionals in Copywriting.

5. Pitch to Clients:

This is where you put your skills to the test by getting writing jobs online.

You can use platforms like Upwork, Freelancer, or LinkedIn to reach out to clients online.

6. Don’t keep all your eggs in one basket:

Anybody who wishes to become rich should know that that having only one source of income is risky.

As a writer you have access to opportunities like affiliate marketing, courses, and eBooks, in addition to your work as a freelance writer.

7. Offer Value:

You must focus on delivering high-quality work and provide extra value to your audience and clients.

Because he who works more then he is paid for will soon be paid more than he works

Bamidele Onibalusi’s is a great example that, with the right approach and mindset, anyone can achieve financial freedom and create a career that is successful anywhere in the world

And if you are determined you too can build a successful freelance writing career.
