What is considered to be a generally good design, might not work for all people. The examples of good design students gave were of products the are compact, easy to learn and use (blood pressure monitor), unique and environmentally friendly (hand wash faucet over the toilet), something that fits them (headphones — my example was about my headphones too).
Examples of bad design experiences were more personalised: an app that is cumbersome and inconsistent, not informative what you can do with it, so you can easily break it. A website using a mix of red and green colours that colour blind people cannot read, convoluted so you don’t know where to click — something that looks as outdated as web 2.0.
At the same time, can something bad be good at the same time? Think of that’s subjective and what’s objective!
