Infographic on the Pink Tax

The pink tax is what happens when a product is more expensive because it is pink, or is marketed towards women, even though the mens version is the same, and a lot cheaper. Despite the name, it is not an actual tax that is imposed by the government, rather the companies marking up their products that are targeted towards women.

In an article I read, it talked about lots of various products that differ greatly in price based on price, specifically when it comes to personal care products. They examined over 3,000 products to test the gendered pricing, and overall found that women are paying a lot more on average than men on personal care products, except for a select few products like shaving gel.
