Yep, those are all great points and potentially true. There are a couple things that this brings to mind:
- Automation beyond manufacturing. I’m also trying to imagine what it might mean if so called “white collar” jobs are automated to some degree.
- For any of the automation predictions to come true it would have to become cheaper than human labour for the same work, otherwise this is all kind of a moot point and it will never happen under the current conditions.
When you say “resource economy” are you talking about natural resources? Or other types? I don’t see a strong future for a natural resource commodity based economy… we’re already destroying the planet by trying to extract as much as possible and that won’t be able to go on much longer.
