When Can I Stop Causing Light?…

When a flame is the new pink ribbon — and all counter top appliances are issued in some version of Cadmium? When a flame is the necklace dangle of the moment and printed on skirts? When I am walking the streets of Portland at the end of November wearing ski slope shades…and squinting?

Nope.

I can lay down my candle when the brightness becomes so great I am no longer able to perceive a flame.

I am light. Whenever there is darkness I will shine.

Light Up Medium. Light a candle, snap a pic, post, and affirm: “I am light. Whenever there is darkness I will shine.”

Love, Emerald
