All Section Meeting, Getting Up and Running

This week all of the sections across the board including those working on the EMA's, Conference and Multimedia platforms joined together to discuss plans and actions for moving forward in the coming weeks. The meeting was very informative and helpful in terms of getting everyone on the same page, making everyone’s goal of creating cohesive content seem very achievable.

Members of our instazine group provided a great presentation to the rest of our peers about our goals for this new and upcoming platform. We made sure to emphasize that if anyone had ideas or content they would like us to consider working with then they are more than welcome to get in contact with us. We were also able to share our Instagram handle @emergeinstazine which was helpful in starting to gain followers and social media support from our co-workers and classmates.

After the meeting, the six of us met to discuss plans for our logo and launch of the instazine. As of next week, we hope to have our logo posted, a description/bio, a start to our layout and our first photo of the Toronto skyline at night posted. In terms of what is coming up, we are working on featuring stories about upcoming Toronto rapper Derin Falana and a Toronto-based indie band called Unbuttoned (Tina). We are also working on stories further down the line relating to automotive artist, Akira Nakai (Curtis) as well as a local fashion designer and a Toronto-based makeup company (Isabella). As these stories progress, we hope to feature small parts of their story under each image. We plan on using many banner images, making the use of multiple tiles for one whole image easier to expand on in terms of a story, which I will be focusing on personally. We’re all very excited about getting started and what is to come.
