Emerson Paul Curley Jr. has worked with a number of medical organizations over the past three decades, during which he has primarily served as a registered nurse. Alongside working with the University of Maryland Medical Center, which he joined in 2018, Emerson Curley is affiliated with the American College of Cardiology (ACC).

The society, which works with medical professionals in numerous fields and publishes several journals, has announced its newest publication. Named JACC: Asia, the journal will primarily feature work created by Asian medical professionals and focus on Asian populations.

ACC notes that this will be the first peer-reviewed cardiovascular journal looking solely at a specific region. The publication, which will be online-only, will include research on diseases and late-stage medical interventions within East Asian populations.

ACC President Dr. Athena Poppas notes that localized cardiovascular education can be vital, with the new journal being a step toward developing more research to that end.

JACC: Asia will begin publishing in 2021.
