If you wish for your words to be clean and true, pick the one from old English. If your desire is to appear erudite and pretentious, select the French.

Great read! Thank you. But I feel that the conclusion is a bit harsh. Do you really think that people desire to appear ‘pretentious’ when they write? :-)
