So Hang On

A poem, a song

So hang on…
The ribbon is slipping
The sand is spilling through

Upsetting the rhythm
The world is spinning
Too close a call
You don’t like it at all

So hang on…
The feet are tripping
The waves are dipping low

We keep struggling on
Knowing we can be wrong
It’s too close a call
We don’t like it at all

Hang on
‘Cause the balance is tipping
Humanity’s winning
And we all braved it through
Victory feels so true

And you could have left
But you had your untaken chances
And we stuck together
To the end
