A love letter from your fat friend.
Your Fat Friend

I love this piece.

Recently what angered me most is one of Oprah’s Weight Watchers commercials. To me, it was saying “despite everything I’ve done in my life, and built for myself and others, I’m still a failure because I’m fat.”

I would like to live in a world where a woman with influence such as Oprah makes her own commercial saying “I have been so successful, helping myself and others in my life, and THIS IS ME!”

Unapologetically. Not for a weight loss company. Not feeling sorry for herself because she could master so much in life BUT THAT ONE THING…

It made me realize (though I’m normal-sized) that weight doesn’t matter, and having Oprah or anyone else saying their size is ANY reflection of their success as a human being (or a detraction from what success they’ve achieved) is disgusting.
