Let it be known that one need not be a recent immigrant to leave half a roll of toilet paper (and other surprises) in the toilet for Housekeeping to find! Happens almost weekly even with guests who are well-healed Mayflower-ancestry Americans. Also worth pointing out that in many places I’ve traveled abroad (decades ago at least) there was NO toilet paper available, just a hole or not even a hole, a trench, which some poor soul had to clean out. I never quite knew what to do with the tissues I carried in and, um, used.
