Hiking: RamsauàZauberwald(Magic Forest)>Hintersee Lake
We arrived at the Berchenstgarden (check spelling) area, where the famous Konigsee (King’s lake) is located, and took a hike to the magic forest today. It was a low difficulty hike, with a clear-greenish white stream running along our path, soothing our souls with the trickles running past. We’ve gotten accustomed to different distances and levels of difficulty in hikes in the Germany region, and this one led us from Ramsau to the beautiful Hintersee, one of the German Alpine lakes sitting in the middle of surrounding mountains, reflecting different shades of green and blue with its warm and clear water.

I’ve found that one fundamental different ways of appreciating travel is how we perceive beauty of nature, as Asian tourists traveling to Europe tend to put a lot of emphasis in taking pictures, it is true that we try to capture the stuff that we are most afraid to loose. Yet sometimes when the focus is in the pictures instead of the appreciation of the beauty of natural sceneries itself, the view loses one layer of meaning, I think. A lot of European hikers sit in front of the scenery for a few moments, taking in the view, and then leave quietly afraid to disturb the sublime of others. Sometimes Mom and Dad and I care for pictures with the view, because we want to insert ourselves into the pictures with our memory. There’s no right or wrong, but I prefer the European way, even though fundamentally my mindset is still very Asian, but I guess slowly I’ll try to integrate into appreciating the view itself, and silently press the views I the back of my mind, providing relaxation and relief in future hectic lifestyles.
