Third year–can be a rollercoaster ride, in accelerated courses, packed schedules, and unprecedented events. Those with resilience and persistence carry on despite turbulences, and this is my goal for the semester. Passion, patience, perseverance to reach my goals, despite setbacks I wish myself the courage to get back on track and integrate better with learned experiences. Staying focused, managing time well, and staying true and sincere to people around you–these are the values I keep at heart and would pursue it with perseverance.

Having attended the TSA welcome dinner–welcoming a total of around 4o freshmen this year, I look at the timid faces and see myself when I first came to Hong Kong. Apprehension and anticipation would be the right words when integration to a new environment, and rugged adaptation is when growth is maximized without our notice.

The initial 2 weeks of school are when penultimate recruitment talks take place. Attending information sessions, doing homework beforehand, and networking with professionals in the field would be a process that requires continuous improvement from me myself. Practice makes perfect, and from pitching your self-introduction in a succinct and confident manner, delivering your questions with content and efficiency, and listening to understand–these are the skills that I’d like to polish and improve on. I enjoy learning about stories of others, and I really appreciate the opportunity to learn about an industry before stepping into the environment. Hong Kong is a vast sea full of opportunities–for those with adequate preparation.

I’m also grateful for a very strong and supporting network and can’t be more grateful for MIG seniors and my Taiwanese/mainland crew offering advice, experience, and information sharing during the recruitment season. Not going into details, but thankful and truly blessed:)
