To build real trust in a media brand, and not just faux trust that results from the feeding of confirmation bias, reporters need to be able to trust their colleagues’ coverage as accurate and truthful. Do you trust the other voices at Breitbart to deliver information that is accurate and truthful? Was InfoWars’ “coverage” of Pizzagate valid because there are some people who wanted to hear it, and those people deserve someone to speak for them, or was it invalid simply because it was a lie? Can’t be both.
