One way of thinking about Kaizen is a definition I learned from a dance coach. She said that Kaizen was focusing on improving yourself one percent every day, just one percent that after multiple days of one percent improvements will turn into one hundred percent improvement. Instead of focusing on our downfalls or how far we are from our goals we should constantly be striving for that one percent difference. Those small improvements can help us gain ultimate satisfaction and confidence in our abilities. This isn't to say that we should set our goals low, it is saying that we should aim high but allow time for slow continuous improvement.
