Perseverance: the most important tool on a smoking cessation journey

Quitting smoking is a marathon, not a sprint. Like a marathon, the importance of starting is not the time you can keep in a strong state and move on. Even if you have a wrong start or twice — occasionally smoking a cigarette — that doesn’t mean the game is over, it doesn’t mean you lose. You can make up the ground and move on. Sometimes it can be difficult and of course there are moments when you want to give up, but like a marathon runner, you have to dig deep and find the strength to keep moving in the right direction.

You will face challenges, especially in the first few days after quitting smoking, but remember the image of a marathon runner. When he or she gasps or feels the pain of the side needle, the most important thing is not to give up. It’s not easy, but the only way you really lose is to give up. On a smoking cessation journey, your e-cigarette gives you support, and as long as you move on, you should rely on it as much as possible.

The past of every day is a small victory, and if you can move on and move on in the first week, every day after that will become easier and easier. It won’t always go smoothly, but you can do it. When you come out from the other side, your body will thank you, smoke-free, healthy, happy.

Know where you can vaporize e-cigarettes

When steam e-cigarettes first became popular, people said you could “evaporate anywhere.”

But it’s no longer true.

While it is not illegal to evaporate e-cigarettes indoors in China, many bars, restaurants and other public places choose not to allow e-cigarettes in their own premises. In practice, it’s best to assume that you can’t vaporize e-cigarettes indoors unless you’re in a place where steam-friendly e-cigarettes are allowed, or you get permission in advance.

The same basic advice applies to friends and family’s houses. Ask before you evaporate e-cigarettes, but in practice, most people don’t mind evaporating e-cigarettes, and it’s likely to allow you to do so without going out.

Etiquette is a bit complicated because things are still going on, but if you want to discuss this topic in more detail, we have a full post.

told about quitting smoking.

After a few days of e-cigarettes, you’ll be more confident in your decision. But that doesn’t mean everyone you know will be happy with the decisions you’ve made. While major organizations are increasingly supportive of smoking, the media and many people believe it is dangerous or not effective in helping smokers quit, or a range of different things. Here are some common objections and some responses:

  • “I’ve heard that those things (steam e-cigarettes) are just as harmful to you as cigarettes. That’s what many people have implied, but every major group that has seen the evidence, including Public Health England, the Royal College of Physicians and many others, has concluded that evaporating e-cigarettes is much safer than smoking. It may not be completely risk-free, but it is much more risky than smoking.
  • “But you’re still addicted to nicotine. “I still rely on nicotine, yes, but the main reason I evaporated is to reduce my risk of using nicotine. Over time, I was able to reduce my nicotine use, but now the most important thing is that I didn’t inhale all the nasty things that smoke brought. Getting rid of drug addiction is not my top priority right now, and reducing injuries is my top priority.
  • “Doesn’t e-cigarettes give you popcorn lungs?” “It’s not very interesting that some companies use flavorings associated with popcorn lunges in factory workers, but most vaporization companies don’t use them at all. The risk of popcorn lungist is much exaggerated in the media: in fact, no one has a popcorn lung, and there may not be enough chemicals in it to cause popcorn lung.
  • “The steam is full of formaldehyde!” Only when a large amount of formaldehyde is detected in the steam is it is in a truly unrealistic situation. When you evaporate like a real-world person, e-cigarettes contain far less formaldehyde than in cigarettes.
  • “It doesn’t help you at all.” “Based on the evidence we’ve got so far — not to mention countless stories online — they do help you quit smoking. This is shared by many major organizations, enthusiast scare providers, and most researchers in the field. Best-quality studies tend to benefit evaporating e-cigarettes.

How to deal with tobacco addiction

As mentioned earlier, the path to quitting with steam e-cigarettes may be easier than quitting without support, but you still have some challenges along the way. Evaporation is useful when you want to quit smoking, but when you want to quit, you may still experience some.

First and foremost, even if it’s obvious, if you can evaporate, do it! If you feel like you’re smoking a lot, don’t worry, it’s better to take a sip and then feel satisfied, rather than taking the time to get a cigarette. If you have a higher-strength electronic liquid, fill it up when your desires are particularly strong.

If you can’t evaporate, there are many other ways to help you overcome your cravings.

  • Remember, desire is short-lived. After 5 to 10 minutes, that desire will disappear. This is the time it takes to listen to two or three songs. That’s the end of the matter. Every desire you avoid is a victory, and every desire makes future cravings easier to deal with.
  • Try to do something positive. Taking a light walk, jogging, swimming, and even doing practical things, such as housework or gardening, can free your mind from your desire and take long enough to get through it.
  • Remember why you want to give up smoking. Remindyours of the initial reasons for quitting smoking can give you enough motivation to get through a craving. You can record these as a list (the “notes” or “notes” app on your phone is a good place to be), or just remember them from memory.
  • Break the association of any processing triggers. For example, you may always smoke after a meal and find it particularly difficult to stop smoking. Choose another activity to do at these times to break the link with smoking. Personally, these times I just start evaporating e-cigarettes, but you can do anything: read, do crossword puzzles, chew gum, drink a cup of hot chocolate, or whatever you like, as long as it’s not smoking.

The key to remember is that all desires will disappear. Physical cravings almost disappear when you get through the first week, although psychological connections take longer to break, and if you continue to focus on your goals, you will do so when you need them.

Make sure you have someone who supports you to quit smoking.

Quitting smoking by steaming is a more enjoyable process than simply quitting or using patches or gums or something like that, but when you try to quit, you still need someone to support you to quit smoking.

Friends and family are a good source of support on a personal level. Whether it’s having someone to talk to when you’re struggling with cravings, or when you’re through difficult times, there’s only one person who can distract you and make you smile, and you should rely on the person you love when you need someone. Some of them may also fail, and they can also be useful sources of technical support and more practical advice.

The Steam Electronics Quit Smoking Enthusiast Tribe is arguably the best source of support for new products. Not only do they have a wealth of experience in helping people overcome the difficulties of quitting smoking, but they also have a deep understanding of smoking and common problems people encounter. Many local smoking cessation services are steam-friendly, so check your local service to see what they can do!

E-cigarette enthusiast WeChat Public (ID: dianziyaniqos) is also a good source of support. The biggest advantage of public numbers like this is that they are absolutely technical experts. If you’re trying to get your steam mode to work, or if you’re not sure about any aspect of your technology, ask a question and you’ll definitely get dozens of informed answers on the same day.

However, what you might not expect is that the steam e-cigarette enthusiast tribe is also a valuable source of support for the psychological challenge of quitting smoking. Everyone on a blog like this has gone through the same struggle, and they have enough insight into what you’re going through and how to overcome any challenges you face in the process.

What E-liquid e-cigarette liquid should you buy?

You’ll notice that the advice on nicotine strength is not fixed. The truth is that it may take some experimentation to get the right strength. For example, smokers who use a simple steam pen every day may start at 18 mg/ml, but some people think this will inflame their throats, so in this case it is best to use 12 mg/ml.

The best advice is to choose a few nicotine strengths when you first buy an electronic liquid, or to test some electronic liquids before you buy. If you put all the e-juice together, but you don’t like it, or you find it unsatisfactory, you’re stuck. Therefore, it is best to choose the two most likely options and add an electronic liquid to both.

For example, if you smoke a pack of cigarettes a day and you are using a steam pen, and 12 mg/ml may be the appropriate level, we recommend trying at least 18 mg/ml of electronic liquid. If you like higher nicotine strength in the throat, it will be easier to get a satisfying vapor. You can even use stronger electronic liquids when you don’t evaporate that long — for example, when you’re at work, you can fill the tank with it while you’re at a break.

When you’ve evaporated for a while, you’ll have a better idea of the right level, but at first, it’s best to give yourself some choice. The same advice applies to tastes: It’s best to have some different taste choices, and even if you start out with tobacco or fruity electronic liquids, you may often want to change, and your preferences will change over time.

If you’re using mod…

  • For heavy smokers — one pack a day or more — 12 mg/ml is the maximum strength you may need. With a powerful device, an 18 mg/ml of electronic liquid may be too harsh on your throat and may even produce too much nicotine.
  • If you smoke a pack of cigarettes a day, 6 mg/ml is the best level for people who use more powerful e-cigarettes.
  • If you smoke 10 or less per day, a low level of 3 mg/ml may be the appropriate level for your needs. If you want a stronger feeling behind your throat, 6 mg/ml may still be good, but you’re less likely to need it than those who pump more every day.

If you’re using a pen device…

  • For heavy smokers — one pack or more a day — 18 mg/ml of electronic liquid is an ideal level.
  • If you smoke less a day, 12 mg/ml of nicotine may be enough to meet your needs and make your throat easier to control.
  • For those who smoke 10 or fewer a day, 6 mg/ml of electronic liquid will give you a more mature experience and may be more suitable for higher levels. you can contact with us for more details Vape mods in UK
