Did this really happen? To an actual person?

It’s what I call “sort-of fiction”. I have many friends who have experienced what the character Constance has experienced. Thankfully, I haven’t lost any friends from this kind of inattention and medical neglect. A lot of the conversations between patient/doctor were my experiences. The lack of access to medical facilities due to poor public transportation options, the lack of accessible exam tables — all that stuff is very real, and statistics prove that women with disabilities face higher risk of death due to this medical neglect.
