Identity Crisis: Am I a Developer or Designer?
James Y Rauhut

I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on this! I’m coming into tech from a very different field — I used to be a philosophy teacher. I guess since my previous training taught me to work with big ideas by extracting their essentials concepts, it’s easy for me to see that many of these fields/job titles have superficial differences, but the underlying strategies and ways of thinking are quite similar. For that reason along with others, it seems like it makes more sense for people to try to drop the territorial attitude about job titles as much as possible and identify with the projects they’re working on — their end goals — instead, as you have done here.
