Hiking in Watching Mountain Park Trail

We missed the very good Little Sheep Hot Pot restaurant located in Edition, so we came back and the food was so delicious. After so much food, we decided to walk for a while, and found a very cute trail. The trail is loop, easy and kind of short, but it is good enough to help digestion and help you to clear your mind. :) Okay now, let me give your more details.

You can download the hiking map from here: http://www.somersetcountyparks.org/genInfo/maps/WashingtonValleyPk.pdf

p.s. we hiked Red Trail Perimeter

Watching Mountain Park trail is located in Washington Valley Park. Since you hike the RED trail, we were using location: https://www.google.com/maps?q=N40+35.749+W74+34.415&hl=en&sll=39.353132,-75.036771&sspn=0.007906,0.008186&t=h&z=17

Difficulty Level

Easy to moderate trail surface. Hard-packed and rocky, but with loose, smaller rocks, easy to side on. (If comparing it with Appalachian trail, this one is much easier)

6.8 miles — Red — ORANGE — YELLOW loop, then 2.0 miles — BLUE loop.

  • shorter: just try the RED loop, or the WHITE loop
  • longer: you can combine both loops, about 8.8 mile hike.
A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
