Valentine’s Day Looks.
So with Valentine’s Day fast approaching, I thought it’d be fun to throw some looks together that are suitable for whatever your plans may be.
1. The Classic Valentine’s Date.

This is your typical, run of the mill Valentine’s Day look except I’ve tried putting my own little spin on things. It’s a classic because it is the perfect ‘going for dinner’ look but instead of the usual skin tight red frock that you could barely breathe in never mind eat a three course meal, I’ve gone with a just as sexy but much more comfortable red skater dress. The off the shoulder element gives it that flirtatious vibe but in an elegant way. The flow-y skirt gives you room to breathe and room to eat to your heart’s content without having to worrying about any seems bursting open. Team it up with some killer heels, cute accessories, a red lip and you’re all set to enjoy your Valentine’s…the classic way.
2. The Plan B.

This look is perfect for a not so formal date. Whether you’re still going for dinner but in a more casual place or if you’re hitting the cinema or a bar, this is the ideal alternative. Nothing beats a skirt and crop top combo and this is the proof. The red crop top gives it that fun Valentine’s feel while the leopard print contrasts the sweet with the sultry. I’ve paired it with some black tights because it is February after all! The flatforms are perfect for giving you a little extra height without the pain of heels and teamed with a brown nude lipstick, it’s the perfect 90’s homage.
3. The Out With the Girls.

Sometimes a night out with the girls is just what Valentine’s calls for. Whether it’s you all uniting to battle the singleton blues or realising that it’s a day to be spent with the ones you love so there’s nowhere else you’d rather be, this look does the job. It’s a great one for throwing on last minute or if the night out’s location is still to be confirmed. I just adore these style of dresses, they are fun and playful but not so much so that they make you look like a child. Layering jewellery is such a massive trend nowadays, so the gold chains and rings not only compliment the dress but will have you on trend too! Add a wine lip to make the outfit pop even more, the lipstick here is Charlotte Tilbury in shade Glastonberry. I bought the lipstick a few weeks ago purely because of the name but the shade is to die for and it’s been my go to for every night out I’ve had since purchasing it.
4. The Casual Date.

Whether it’s a cute mate date or an actual real date, this look is perfect for looking like you’ve made an effort without looking over the top. Again, this look is great if you’re just going for drinks or just having a laid back, no fuss kind of date. The top is what really makes this outfit, the red is giving that fun hint to Valentine’s Day while the glitter automatically jazzes up the look. It’s the kind of top that you could dress up with a skirt and heels or dress down like I’ve done by pairing it with some high waisted jeans from Topshop. I’ve also teamed it with some comfy, pointed Chelsea boots, a striped blazer, a simple black satchel and some cute rings and of course, accent it all by adding a classic red lip.
5. The Singleton

This is a fun and a not so conventional Valentine’s Day look inspired by my own February 14th’s plans. As pretty and fun as all the other looks are, this is where it is at. Nothing beats comfy pyjamas with gaudy patterns paired with the fluffiest slippers, it really is comfort at it’s best. Instead of spending the day wallowing in loneliness, get your PJ’s, throw the hair up into a messy bun, get in some goodies (the wine is essential!) and throw on some of your favourite rom coms. I’ve gone with 10 Things I hate About You and Bridget Jones’s Diary. WARNING: This may result in wallowing even further as you soon realise that they just don’t make them like Patrick Verona any more but then again, why spend the day with some weirdo when you can spend it with Joseph Gordon Levitt, Heath Ledger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant. And if a night out with the girls isn’t what you fancy like in look no.3, invite them all in on the pity party.
Your thoughts:
“I like the nude lip on the second one cause if all goes well and we kiss, I don’t want to end up looking like a clown with red all over my face. But as in outfits, I’d probably go with the casual one just ’cause I love a jean.” — M
“I adore look 5, the single one? It’s brilliant. I do hate this time of year cause all blogs and fashion mags everywhere are obsessed with dates — where you should go, what should you wear but there’s never anything fashion based around us poor lot who are alone for Valentine’s.” — R
“I really like that one [3. The Out With the Girls], I think it’s perfect for all scenarios…well maybe not the staying in and watching movies one, be a bit over dressed! But yeah, the dress is cute so you could easily wear it out on a date too, personally I’d pair it with the boots to give it more of an edge.” — S
“The singleton is genius! Nothing beats pyjamas and a film, ideal plans if you ask me. You’d so get away with the look and plans even if you’re not single but maybe only if you’ve been in a relationship for a long enough time that the guy you’re with is used to you in your natural habitat, might scare off any newbies!!” — L
“The classic is my favourite, if you can’t get dolled up on Valentine’s Day then when can you?” — A
“The casual date is funky, I really like it. The blazer and glitter top combo is a little adventurous for me but I feel like on the right girl it’d be stunning.” — A
“The second one, the one with the leopard print skirt. [2. The Plan B] It’s all about the skirt in this one and I think you could get away with wearing this look even when it’s not Valentine’s.” — K
