Story, in social media, refers to a collection of ephemeral auto-playing vertical videos, in which each video typically has a lifespan of 24 hours.

-Wikipedia

With overwhelming demand for sharing a short generated-photo or video collection on social media, the Stories feature has been not only for Instagram or Snapchat anymore. Not only Social Networking app but also Messanger app, Dating app, and more!

I have listed down apps using Stories feature on their products. Some are used well by its user and some ditched Stories feature due to lack of understanding the user needs.

Have a look and let me know if there are more!

5. Youtube Stories November 2018

There are some major differences between Instagram Stories and YouTube’s iteration of the feature. YouTube Stories last for seven days on the mobile app, they will appear for both subscribers and non-subscribers, and they’ll show up in YouTube’s “Up Next” sidebar beside a video.

7. WeChat Time Capsule December 2018

Instead of lining up all the instant videos at the top of the app as Instagram does, WeChat is asking users to find them in less conspicuous ways: On Moments, in a group chat or in one’s starred friend list, a blue ring will appear near the profile of those who have recorded instant stories.

8. Weibo Stories May 2017

Apart from standard posts, users can also hold live-streaming sessions or upload “Weibo stories” (similar to Instagram stories). The story function allows users to upload a 15-second video/story that disappears after 24 hours. You’ll recognize these features from other popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.
