How To Choose A Safe Water Bottle

Whether for a training athlete, someone who wants to keep up their water intake or for children, choosing the right water bottle is a difficult task these days. Until now, it was okay to fill up an old plastic bottle and use that for the rest of the day, but with most unsafe plastics today, most people are looking for a better alternative.

The best and most safe water bottle option are glass bottles, but they are great only for home use, as they are heavy and not practical to carry outside your home. Hence, we have no other choice than to turn to a permanent water bottle. There are dozens on the market, but it usually all comes down to a three types of bottles: polycarbonate plastics, aluminum and stainless steel.

Polycarbonate Bottles

Polycarbonate water bottles are considered the safest option. They are extremely durable, they don’t shrink under heat, like the PET bottles, and maintain their own shape. What’s more, they come in lots of colors and attractive mesh shoulder slings making it even more appropriate for outdoor use. Everybody is using them, but the question is, should they? The answer is a big NO! Polycarbonate bottles have been proven to leach BPA into drinking water, which is extremely dangerous for our health, so make sure you stay away of them.

Aluminum Bottles

Aluminum is a solid choice for a water bottle. They are durable, lightweight and safe, but also more expensive option. They have become trendy because they do not leach and are difficult to crack or break, which makes it even more popular.

Stainless Steel Bottles

The best way to get your daily dose of water is by a stainless steel water bottle. It is a bit heavier, but you can be sure that there will be no chemical leach. They are extremely sturdy and it can be a challenge to crack or break one. What’s more important, stainless steel does not interact with any beverage even when exposed on sunlight. Your water will always tastes good out of a stainless steel water bottle.

Glass Water Bottles

Least, but not last, glass water bottles are certainly safer than aluminum and plastic bottles, but their main downside is their heaviness and fragility. It is true that they are easy to clean and do not leach chemicals, but because of their heaviness and fragility they are not recommended to use outside your home.

Obviously, there are a lot of different factors that can affect your decision related to choosing the right water bottle. The most important thing to take into account is the safety. Do not spare on water bottle and anything related to your health, because at the end without health we are nothing!
