This is a brief story-time presentation on ways you can use technology to learn in the classroom and simultaneously learn to become more familiar with the equipment in hand. I’ve always seen typing as such an important skill when using a computer or even a cell phone and because we use technology so often it only seems right to teach our youth how to use these things properly. In that case, why not teach them how to type while also getting them familiar with spelling words or vocabulary? Spelling something over and over repetitively would be a great way to learn your keyboard and become familiar with the home keys and space bar, back space, etc. so incorporating spelling with typing would be like killing two birds with one stone.

In this lesson, students will be asked to make an “All about me” presentation to share with the class. The expectation will be for them to use “Prezi” to make their presentations so prior to them starting the assignment they should watch this six minute tutorial video on how to make a Prezi presentation. One of the things they are asked to do is make it as fun and personalized as possible and with Prezi the options are endless. The video should encourage them to use all of their resources and tools to make it their own.
