Her Story was unlike any other online game I have played before. It was especially unique because you had to figure out how to play yourself. Oftentimes games have directions or a main objective, but with Her Story, you had to figure out how to play yourself, for the most part, and were able to continue for as long as you desired to learn more about the story. Her Story utilizes a database by providing an unordered list of video clips in which you can solve the crime by piecing the story together. Another thing it does to utilize a database is have multiple outcomes. Depending on the order you watch the videos and search keywords, you might stop the game at a different time and have a slightly different outcome than your peers.

My theory regarding the character being interviewed is that she is two different people. Although they look the same, I put together the story as twins who hid behind each other in order to make it seem like there was only one of them like a classic twin switcheroo. She explains some scenarios like dating as one person and even being with Simon as one person. The truth is that there was a set of twins and they were unaware of each other’s existence for the first few years of their lives. Once they discovered each other, they decided to keep the secret going into their adult lives which sparked problems with jealousy and wanting their life to themselves. In the end, one of the twins, Hannah, was filled with so much jealousy after sharing the truth about the twins that she killed Simon by slashing his throat. I thought it was interesting how the twins came back together as a team to protect themselves, but I was not very surprised because they clearly care deeply for each other.
